1. The southmost beach of Europe! December 19, 2010 11:34

The beach Tripiti is located 7km south of Karave, the southernmost point of Gavdos and Europe. The eastern part of the beach has sand, while the west has large stones.

The southern beach of Europe is very nice and is formed on the exit of a dried torrent with large sand dunes. Close to the exit of the torrent, you'll see a dried salt pan, which forms a small lagoon during the winter. This lagoon hosts hundreds of migratory birds, during their journey from Europe to Africa (and vice versa).
